Mission Statement

The Merrimac Cultural Council supports community-based Arts, Humanities, and Interpretive Science events with funding allocated to us by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. We favor applicants from Merrimac or projects benefiting Merrimac residents. We strongly prefer projects with established venues. When reviewing applicants we also consider local needs, community involvement, variety of projects, and diversity of audience.

Please note that all applications are now required to be submitted online. The 2020 deadline is November 16, 2020. If you are need assistance with the online application please contact the council before November 1.

Merrimac Cultural Council is participating in a state pilot program to pay grants in advance to awarded grantees. Please note, if you are awarded a grant, that this requires return of a grant contract by February 16, 2021.
